Terms of business

The plain-English terms we work to. Your written quote can add to or change these for a specific project.

1. Quotes and scope

Every project starts with a written quote setting out what we'll build, the price and the timeline. Quotes are valid for 30 days. Work outside the agreed scope is quoted separately before we start it.

2. Payment

We ask for a deposit of 30% before work starts, with the balance due on completion, before the project goes live. Invoices are payable within 14 days. For larger projects we may agree staged payments instead.

3. Your part

You'll provide the content, images, logins and feedback we need, in good time. Delays in getting these to us may move the timeline.

4. Changes and revisions

Each quote includes two rounds of revisions at the design stage. Further changes, or changes after sign-off, are charged at £30 per hour or quoted separately.

5. Ownership

Once the final invoice is paid, you own the code, design and content we create for you. We may reuse general techniques and our own tools and libraries. We may show the finished work in our portfolio unless you ask us not to.

6. Third-party costs

Domains, hosting, paid plugins, app store fees and other third-party services are paid by you directly, or recharged at cost. They are set up in your name wherever possible.

7. After launch

If something we built doesn't work as agreed, tell us within 20 days of launch and we'll fix it at no cost. Ongoing updates, new features and support are quoted separately.

8. Cancellation

Either side can end a project by giving notice in writing. You pay for the work completed up to that point. The deposit covers the time already booked and is non-refundable once work has started.

9. Liability

We take care to build reliable, secure software, but we can't be responsible for losses caused by third-party services, hosting outages or changes made by others after handover. Our total liability for any project is limited to the amount paid for it.

10. Confidentiality and data

We keep your business information confidential. Where we handle personal data on your behalf, we do so in line with UK GDPR. See our privacy notice.

11. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
